1.10.004 (15 Jan 2024)

Released on 15 January 2024.

Base game

  • Fixed some cases of dwarves swimming in ponds getting stuck.
  • The arrangement of dishes on the shelves of the stall has been corrected, priority has been set for the automatic placement of some products (berries, etc.) that can be used in other recipes.
  • Adjusting the radius of light sources.
  • Fixed the helmet removal animation for female dwarf characters in biomes.
  • Fixed: wall blocks and enemies did not appear during the “Trap” event of Pandora's Box.
  • Fixed: clouds disappeared in winter and desert worlds.

DLC Invasion

  • When an alien capsule falls, sound, effects and earth shaking have been added.
  • Glowing elements and a strength indicator have been added to the alien shuttle.
  • Added an event icon and a chronicle entry when a shuttle is destroyed.
  • The growth of normal bushes and the appearance of a giant worm on infected blocks is prohibited.
  • Infecting of stone blocks is prohibited.
  • The alien technology panels have a special background. The discovery of these technologies due to the corresponding Pandora's Box event is prohibited.
  • A special effect is used to show the effects of radiation on dwarves.
  • Adjusting the balance of items dropped when alien structures are destroyed.
  • Setting up drone animations.
  • The base doors are de-energized immediately when the reactor is partially damaged (smoking).
  • Reduced the strength of alien walls and doors.

1.6.005 (21 Aug 2019)

Released on 21 August, 2019.

Base game

  • Increased the effect of protecting dwarves with loopholes from 30 to 50%.
  • An checkbox has been added to the editor that the block may be carried away by a tornado.
  • Fixed: in the Desert world runes disappeared from the inventory if the player did not have the Bosses and Monsters DLC.
  • Fixed: sometimes wave time was reset or repeatedly delayed in the winter world.
  • Fixed: the torch from the mucus disappeared if the container with it was filled with water.
  • Fixed some errors in the texts.
  • Fixed some cases of abnormal termination of the game, including Mac version.

DLC Bosses and Monsters

  • Bosses: Kraken and Scorpisphinx are noticeably strengthened (they attack more often, do more damage, have better health).
  • Around the Kraken, tentacles of various sizes are additionally spawned.
  • A drop of resources from tentacles has been added: mucus, coins and fish in an increasing amount from the size of the tentacles.
  • The number of Lurkers in one colony was reduced and the interval of their respawn was increased.
  • Fixed: sometimes Kraken eventually ceases to attack in response.
  • Fixed: water disappeared under the kraken.
  • Fixed: sometimes dwarves could not swim out of the kraken pit.
  • Fixed: metal arrow turrets did not attack the wyverns from the wave.
  • Fixed: Thunderbolt bow lightning arrows did not have an effect on some monsters.
  • Fixed: Fire Whip Staff was absent in the technology tree of the World of dangerous caves.
  • Fixed: the power of some new mobs did not depend on the difficulty level of the game.

DLC Abandoned Mines

  • Added the ability to disassemble items: rusty gun, miner's helmet, miner's boots.

DLC Multiplayer

  • Fixed a bug with infinite health from wine.
  • Mac: Improved online game stability.

1.6.004 (31 Jul 2019)

Improved AI of dwarves:

  • sometimes dwarves tried to enter the portal repeatedly when the siege mode was activated;
  • 2 dwarves both could not place the blocks at the location of each other;
  • archers and mages sometimes stuck near the place of attack and digging;
  • dwarves did not retreat in battle with the worm-digger, taking him for a harmless creature;
  • during a panic, the dwarves ignored the portal opened by the player in order to escape from the battlefield;
  • sometimes idle dwarves entered the portal near the warehouse.
  • Fixed: sometimes the worm-digger did not bury the tunnel with blocks.
  • Fixed: the interior door was not displayed in the closed state.
  • Fixed: stone gargoyle disappeared when switching left / right view.
  • Fixed: the weapon in the hands of the dwarf at the level sometimes did not match the weapon in the equipment.
  • Fixed: when using a come here spell, the block is no longer marked at the point of the call.
  • Fixed: custom content was displayed incorrectly in mods, support for user borders for level blocks was added.
  • Fixed some errors in the texts.
  • Fixed some crash issues.

1.6.003 (25 Jul 2019)

Released on 25 July, 2019.

  • Improved dwarves AI in a battle with the worm-digger, so that they retreated in time.
  • Added protection against spawn worm-digger in the same radius from totems as well as from the main stockpile.
  • When a wyvern is killed, it drops essence of fire, and in the world of dangerous caves it drops the wyvern egg with some probability.
  • Captain Octopus now gains increased health and damage with each next appearance of the ghost ship.
  • Fixed: monsters in multiplayer mode did not attack the main stockpile.
  • Fixed a bug where the player lost progress when a failed connection to the server.
  • Improved connection stability in a network game.
  • Fixed issue with screen zoom settings.
  • Fixed: ticks from the staff attacked the animals on the farm.
  • Fixed: digging machines now stop when mana is exhausted.

  • Underground Lurkers no longer spawn right below the feet of the digging dwarves.
  • The maximum population of active ticks is limited now.
  • In the tip to the secret recipe in the technology tree displays the name of the item.
  • Fixed: dwarves archers could not attack the Burrowing Worm.
  • Fixed: in a multiplayer game, customers could not put marks of attack on beasts.
  • Fixed: sometimes it was impossible to mark Wyvern for an attack.
  • Fixed: ticks from magic staff attacked their own turrets.
  • Fixed: the cannon from the pirates' ship continued to shoot after the death of the Captain.
  • Fixed: the dwarves continued to attack the spawner of pirates on the ship after it disappeared.
  • Corrected: sometimes in the 1st world Ent did not spawn, and in the 3rd world Sphinx did not spawn.

1.6.000 DLCs banner

Released on 25 June, 2019.


  • 2 new DLCs will be available: Bosses & Monsters and Abandoned Mines.
  • Implemented the ability to craft new and existing items in 1 click without placing a recipe.
  • Now you can quickly call the dwarves, which all go to the nearest selected point. Also works on Shift + right click.
  • Collection icons marks appear. When you click on the icon resources send into the tasks of collecting by dwarves.
  • In the world of the Underground caves added extra rooms with rune doors and golems guards.
  • Now you can call the trolley anywhere. Previously, it was possible only at the place of installation of the railroad switch.
  • Improved display of the sea in the island worlds.
  • In freshwaters now grow algae.
  • Increased the priority of fire extinguishing tasks by dwarves.
  • For new items and some old ones added large pictures in the recipes.
  • Added more options for the usual secret rooms.
  • Added symbols for Romanian localization.

General fixes:

  • Fixed some cases of crossing of secret rooms on each other.
  • Fixed a bug where magicians attacked with lightning from a very long distance.[1]
  • Fixed some crash issues.
  • Many other minor changes and fixes.

Mods support:

  • Fixed: no initial equipment items were assigned to quick slots.
  • Fixed: the number of items issued when reaching a particular level was always 1.
  • Fixed some bugs in the mod editor.
  • Added switches to set the feature for mirroring the item; added flipping through the options for the image of a block with several pictures.

1.5.004 (19 Mar 2019)

General fixes:

  • Added ability to switch items in the mods editor by drag and drop.
  • Added support of resource_bind.xml file to bind items to the particular world type.
  • Fixed quantity of items which player may get in mod when reaching needed level.

1.5.000 (21 Dec 2018)

Star Wars

Released on 21 December, 2018.

Changes and fixes:

  • Now in the "sandbox" mode recipes for items fall out in accordance with their presence in the technology tree. The same applies to items that can be crafted knowing the recipe but not yet found it in the game.
  • Reduced trees cut down time.
  • Fixed: the stonecutter refused to work in the workshop even if he wasn't busy and the task was transferred to another dwarf.
  • Fixed: the wrong weapon fell out from the cave goblins.
  • Fixed: the orcs skeletons did not appear from the underground graves.
  • Fixed: in a multiplayer game several gargoyle appeared from the statue while activation.
  • Fixed some crash issues.
  • Other minor fixes and improvements.

New content:

  • Added a dialog to set priorities for dwarves tasks.
    • In a compact version of the dialogue, the player can choose one of the following options:
      • preparation for the battle - focus on the manufacture of weapons;
      • resource collection - extraction and transfer of collected resources;
      • balanced mode and custom.
    • In the extended dialogue player can change settings for each of the modes in order to customize the behavior of the dwarves at his wish.
  • Added the ability to create modifications of the game using a special editor. It allows you to add new blocks, items, weapons and armor, create secret rooms, change the technology tree, etc.

You can download mods from the page in the Steam Workshop. You can activate downloaded mods in the main menu of the game.

  • New mod is available in the Star Wars setting with hundreds of new items and a completely new technology tree.

General fixes:

  • Fixed some crashes when switching between windows with the ALT+TAB combination and in other cases.
  • Corrected effects when use some equipment. For example, the cap of the shaman didn't increase ability of the magician.
  • Fixed: a dwarf with the swimmer ability didn't sink in a lava and didn't receive damage from it.
  • Fixed cancellation of process of a training of the dwarf.
  • Fixed: archer towers didn't attack ghosts.
  • Fixed: at restart of level the siege mode remained active.
  • Fixed animation of dwarfs when using a pickaxe.
  • Fixed: ashes could be removed only after removal of the background block.

Lunar New Year banner

Chinese content update[3]

New content:

  • With the celebration of the Lunar New Year added some items which fall out as gifts - festive lanterns, boxes with fireworks, a set of Dragon Warrior's armor and sword.

Changes and fixes:

  • Some dwarfs skills were extended with new abilities - an experienced fisherman catches more fish and can increase their population in a pond; logger plants trees incl. on desert terrain, replacing sand on the ground; swimmer swims faster, does not sink and can work under water for a while; climber climbs faster and can quickly slides down; miller plants wheat; the hunter lures animals closer to the shelter.
  • Blocks next to the lava are gradually charred, ignited and then destroyed depending on the durability of their material and the height above the lava.
  • A number which shows the cost of the spell indicates when this value becomes too big.
  • Inside the secret rooms the evil gargoyle guards treasures instead of the usual one.
  • Imps always deliver the current item to the warehouse before disappearing.
  • New beast descriptions have been added to the bestiary.
  • Fixed bug when dwarfs stuck in a pond, fixed resurrection of new dwarfs without clothes, fixed hunger suppression with wine.
  • Fixed the breaking of blocks by monsters under the main stockpile and warehouse, improved their pathfinding.
  • Many other minor fixes and improvements.


  • Fixed bug when catapults, archer towers and tesla towers didn't shoot at monsters after their owner quit the game.
  • Fixed bug when archer towers inflicted damage to the dwarfs of other player.
  • Fixed some cases of appearance of invisible enemies in secret rooms.
  • Fixed the number of runes appeared depending on the number of players.
  • Fixed 2 chests with the flag of the same color.
  • Fixed sleeping dwarf of the other player on my bed.
  • Fixed displaying of the level size in the server settings.

Christmas Update[4]

New content:

  • Added constructions for training combat skills of dwarfs: dummies for warriors[5], targets for archers[6] and magical spheres for mages[7]. A dwarf can be sent to practice by clicking on it and selecting the appropriate command in the context menu, also by using the button in the equipment dialog or by pressing CTRL+T for several dwarfs at once.
  • Inside the abandoned underground rooms are added doors with treasures (level restart is needed), which can only be opened by collecting a certain combination of runes. Doors are additionally guarded by stone gargoyles and giant mechanical golems.
  • Added New Year content: themed clothes for zombies and green goblins, Christmas tree, decorations[8] for home and cookies.
  • Added improved archers towers, sheathed with iron, they have more protection and damage.
  • Added magic transmitters that reduce mana cost when moving away from the main stockpile. For campaign levels has been added a small drain of mana.
  • Added 5 new pennants[9] to decorate the house, corresponding to 5 hard-to-receive achievements in single game mode.
  • Added new items of equipment: rings and amulets[10], giving different bonuses. They can only be found inside abandoned underground rooms.

Changes and fixes:

  • Many changes in recipes (in most cases - in the direction of simplification): planks, arrows, oil, dishes, threads, cloth, fences, wooden bridge, rails, wheel, catapult, additional stockpile. → See the complete list.
  • Improved direct control of the chosen dwarf.
  • Improved dwarfs pathfinding. Corrected the behavior of dwarfs when fishing.
  • Fixed some cases of generating a world without a room with the portal.
  • Opened doors inside secret rooms can now be destroyed.
  • The conditions for obtaining the achievement Naturalist have been changed from studying all creatures to study more than 50 creatures.
  • The server now has the ability to change the speed of the multiplayer game.
  • Fixed a duplication of objects at a time when the dwarf and imp simultaneously took one object.
  • Fixed group selection of blocks with the SHIFT button.
  • Fixed: dwarf digged the ladder instead of the back block when you select it in the context menu.
  • Fixed: biomes did not show resource icons when camera moves away from blocks.
  • Fixed: fishes did not allow to fill up pond with blocks.
  • Fixed: dwarfs could not jump into the portal hanging in the air next to the block.
  • Fixed: extension of the farm fence sometimes released some animals.
  • Workout speed was increased in 2 times.
  • Increased the delay of the arrival of a new pet instead of the deceased one.

1.4.009 (5 May 2017)

    • The mechanics of the elevator was completely changed. Now elevator consists of several cabins moving continuously.
    • Added 3 pennants which become available to the player for decoration if he has received the corresponding achievements.
    • Corrected the arrangement and the size of the text in a diary window for Asian languages.
    • Corrected lack of localization files for Polish.
    • Fixed positioning of marks of monsters’ portals when changing resolution.
    • Remembered the last open page in workshop dialogue.
  • Multiplayer
    • Reduced durability of the main stockpile.
    • Fixed: the camp of goblins could appear directly over a chest of the inactive player.
    • Fixed: the portal didn't open near a chest if chest stood on the bridge.

    • Fixed: on the sleeping women dwarves of other player hairstyles weren't displayed.
    • Changed: ghosts now throw out the resources which are available only in the common stockpile.
    • Fixed: in the creative mode dwarves mages beat with staffs instead of use the lightnings.
    • Fixed: in the creative mode for the players who have joined the server was displayed multiple effect of the portal from spawn cubes.
    • Fixed: imps didn't continue the movement after release from a trap.
    • Fixed some crashes.

1.4.008 (19 Apr 2017)

  • Added new achievements.
  • Changes of a multiplayer: dwarves don't use machines now and don't eat from tables which are farther from a chest on 15 blocks, which are farther from open portals on 10 blocks and are farther from dwarves on 8 blocks.
  • Changes: you can remove the urns in the secret rooms.
  • Fixed: it was impossible to change the plaster configuration.
  • Fixed: sheep (llama) froze at the same place on the farm.
  • Fixed: shaking animation of the catapults before they will be destroyed.

1.4.007 (12 Apr 2017)

  • Added frequency setting for the waves of monsters in the server settings.
  • Added a notification icon for the number of player’s own imps.
  • Added: catapult can be made now only with stone workshop.
  • Added: the elimination of fire is accelerated, if several dwarfs extinguish it simultaneously.
  • Fixed: in the single player mode the experience from the catapults was not calculated.
  • Fixed loss of dwarf's appearance and skills after reconnecting to the server.
  • Fixed bug when changing level of difficulty of the server didn’t take effect.

1.4.006 (7 Apr 2017)

Updates to Base Game

  • Added Polish language.
  • Fixed: on the minimap, dwarves that flew in tornado were not displayed.
  • Fixed: the animals couldn’t jump on the block or jump over it.

Dig with Friends DLC

  • Added fires in DLC Dig with Friends!
  • In creative mode, when you select infinite resources, the mana becomes infinite too.
  • Added: the bed after demolition is reserved now on that player to whom it belongs.
  • Fixed: Mad Rider and Giant Thrower now don’t go through the door.
  • Fixed: in creative mode new dwarves won’t come after their deaths.
  • Fixed: after death and disappearance the Terrible Beholder revived again and shoot one more fireball.
  • Fixed: cost of spells was calculated not from the chest, but from the main stockpile.
  • Fixed: from the Zombie Spawner in the Winter world came out Yetis.
  • Fixed: dwarves could grab someone else's stuff in multiplayer on their way to the stockpile.
  • Fixed: in the Winter World instead of zombies, in the secret rooms spawned the Yetis.

  • Fixed tutorial in the multiplayer mode.
  • Fixed: dwarves sometimes didn’t attack through the doors even if the enemy is marked for attack.

  • Fixed crash when you restart the server several times.
  • Fixed missing Scroll Keepers in a single game (now you can continue saved game, there will be one Scroll Keeper with all scrolls inside the room with the portal).

  • Fixed: rats nests sometimes spawned on a block with a bush.

  • Fixed crash when creating a server on Mac.

  • Fixed: Magic collection spell сollected all resources, regardless of whether they are your or someone else's.

Updates to Base Game

  • The tech tree becomes partially open more and more from the very beginning of each level in campaign. Deleted some links limiting access to weapon technologies by interior technologies.
  • Blocks of secret rooms were completely replaced – now rooms consist from stone blocks of the ancient disappeared race instead of the constructions of dwarves and contain the locked doors to dungeons with crowds of monsters. Graphics of the ancient portal was replaced according to new style of secret rooms.
  • New monsters were added to monsters’ waves: a Skeleton Archer, a Zombie Armor-Breaker and a Giant Thrower which can throws small zombies.
  • Added many-tier beds which allow you to save space significantly when constructing a shelter on the initial stages of the level.
  • Added marks on the mini map for displaying the opening portals with waves of monsters.
  • Now displays a cost of a spell near the cursor if it is growing in process of removal from the stockpile (for biomes).
  • Now when removing blocks under the archer towers they turn into resources.
  • Corrected work of a lighting spell – sometimes it didn't open unexplored area.
  • Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Dig with Friends DLC


  • The community stockpile allows players to share resources easily.
  • New monsters with interesting offensive tactics will keep you on your toes.
  • Renewable resource veins allow you to mine the ore without worrying about it running out.
  • Spawn cubes can generate monsters upon request.
  • Don’t forget to defend your main stockpile! If it gets destroyed, you lose.

1.3.005 (2 Nov 2016)

  • Fixed layering of pages in the diary.
  • Fixed layering of texts in the biomes dialog.
  • Fixed bug - zombies counter grows indefinitely when Halloween zombie falls into the lava.
  • Fixed: in the Snow world attended the sounds of thunder.

  • Fixed: dwarves talked too often.
  • Fixed: halloween celebration prolonged about two weeks. However, the frequency of the waves will eventually decreases.

Updates to Base Game

Sisters in Arms DLC

  • New characters: Female dwarfs. The hard-working dwarfs will be joined by their charming sisters in arms. Female dwarfs have a little less health than their male counterparts, but their movement speed is significantly higher. They will defend the shelter and explore the dungeons along with the male dwarfs.
  • Pets: We’ve made two kinds of pets for you that can be called upon to hunt pests, guard the dwarfs’ home, and protect their masters. Having a pet also significantly increases your comfort level.
  • Mobile equipment: The dwarfs have become more self-sufficient and now use temporary ladders without waiting for the player’s help if they can’t reach a certain spot. They also have access to parachutes that allow them to jump from high places without getting hurt.
  • Defensive weapons: Dwarfs armed with shields receive additional armor and can sometimes block attacks completely, but their speed is also slightly reduced. Several kinds of shields of various weights and armor levels are available in the DLC.
  • When you zoom out on the map, resource-gathering locations will be marked with their corresponding icons. This will make it much easier to find the resource you need on the map.
  • New dwarven defensive equipment: The mechanized catapult is effective against large groups of monsters and deals damage to an area from long range.
  • In this update you will gain access to various panels for finishing walls. Keep in mind that you can choose their appearance with a click just like stucco.
  • Wine casks that have been placed will occasionally generate bottles of wine that have several useful features.

  14. In Annieway's translation, it said "workbenches". But in the russian text, the word used is "станки", which means "machines". The correspondent for "workbench" in russian is "Верстак", which is even used in this language version of the game to designate this item.

  19. Although all official patch notes list "ice chair" as a new item, it's probably a mistake from the developers, as this item have never existed. They were probably talking about the ice table.
  20. The actual creature implemented in this version was the Ice Bird, which is also blue. The real Blue Bird, which is the bird of the desert had only came to existance 6 versions later (0.9.016), when the Desert World was then created.
