Each dwarf starts with one random skill at level 10, which can be improved with skill books and with skill items.

Skill books drop randomly from dug blocks. They can either add new skills to dwarfs that have less than three skills, or permanently increase current skill levels. These books can also be bought at the goblin shop for two coins each.

Skill items, whenever equiped, will add a temporary boost of 30% to their respective skill. Hunter is the only skill that has no related boost item.
